Avoiding Your Money – Sign One

Through December and January we are looking at some of the signs that show up when you’re avoiding your money. On the blog I’ll be sharing more of the details around how these sign show up. If you want my tips on addressing some of the signs then head over and register for the email tips series.

The most obvious sign and probably the one that shows up for most people is a general state of chaos around money. It doesn’t have to be ALL things money, but it certainly can be. Maybe it’s just one aspect that is complete disarray? Maybe ALL the parts in some level of chaos?

Symptoms

These signs range from the small and seemingly minor things like not being able to remember your banking log-on details or which account you linked to your PayPal.

To showing a disregard for your money like not paying attention to where it comes in and goes back out again. Having little to no idea when major bills need to be paid like annual insurances and quarterly council taxes.

Through to signs of avoiding your money like having multiple savings accounts and not knowing which one has what or which has the best rate and what purpose you are using them for.

In business this comes up first when we don’t separate business from personal. When we sign up to subscriptions and purchases out of shiny object syndrome rather than a financially informed perspective.

Remember we make it harder because then we can use that as a reason not to deal with it.
